The eagerly awaited Armani Hotel, build inside the Burj Khalifa, will now not be opening on time due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland.

The hotel, the first to be designed by Giorgio Armani, was due to open on April 21st, but the mass cancellation of flights from Europe due to the ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano, has delayed the official opening until April 27th.

The hotel will feature 160 rooms, eight restaurants and Armani branded retails stores, all designed throughout by the famous style icon. Further plans include hotels in Italy, Morocco and Egypt.

Good news!

After what seems an age, the observation deck on the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa in downtown Dubai is set to re-open.

The Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world with 160 habitable floors and possibly the highest mosgue in the world on the 158th floor! Shortly after the tower’s observation platform opened in January a lift malfunction left several passengers trapped at over 1000 feet up. To be fair, if you ever needed a functioning lift, then the Burj Khalifa is the place. Having said that, the lifts are very high tech and is the longest travel elevator in the world.

So how much does it cost to get to the 124th floor observation deck?

If you turn up and buy at the door, its 400 AED (about £75) although you can book in advance for 100 AED (about £18)
